As of last week, many counties in Napa and the Bay area have been severely affected by one of the biggest wild fires in Californian history. Many neighborhoods, vineyards and people have been lost in the strong flames of the fires. The air quality has reached severe, equalizing to the severity of the polluted air in Beijing, where the air quality is said to be one of the worsts in the world. As of Tuesday of this week, there has been said an estimated 115,000 acres burned in Northern California. This is not including the fires occurring in Southern California. Governor Jerry Brown has announced a state of emergency for areas affected by the fire.
Wildfires can either occur from dryness or from people. Whether if caused by a person or naturally, it is important to be cautious when outdoors. The air quality can be dangerous for everyone to the point of causing asthma or even cancer. Even if not near a fire, gusts and winds can move the polluted air into good condition areas.
